Love and liberty are at the heart of the dance program at Nou Le Morne.
The original creation from Indian choreographer/dancer Rukmini Chatterjee (India) with the Joseph Brothers (Mauritius) and Sneva Dehanandan (India) is a meeting between African and indian dance and music.
Artists from near (Mauritius) and far… (Europe, Africa, India) come to celebrate nature and advocate for her protection. Also come to discover an exceptional exhibition raising awareness about minorities.
At the heart of Green Village and it’s unique natural space lies an occasion to discover in an amusing and creative way the “green themes” of Nou Le Morne: recycling, permaculture and sustainable development…
Ensamnoukapav, the first collaborative platform, presents best practices to generate the smallest possible impact on the environment.
Come and discover D&L (awareness of ethical and responsible fashion), Fridays for future (Local movement to protest over the inaction on climate change), Plankton recycling (recycling and upcycliing of glass bottles), Palmiste outgrowing (leaf plates made from the fallen royal palm leaves), Kipoufer (Local upcycled and handmade products), Oliver Thomas (recycling plastic ), Céké by TAM (car pooling).
Clean up “Say NO to single-use plastic”.
Participate in waste clean up around Le Morne on August 17th – 18th. The waste will be sorted and immediately transformed during the festival.
Theatre: Anba dilo (Under the water)
15 minutes to warn about the consequences of plastic in the ocean. 12 children from Le Morne village on stage based on an original idea by Mélanie Wehrli & Kan Chan Kin with Enn Losean Vivab and the participation of Deanna Desvaux de Marigny, Kim Yip Tong, Pierre Louis Pailluseau & Vincent de Robillard…

Dancing to denounce waste
For Nou Le Morne, Numanity will be accompanied by the children of the village and the rap group A4C.
The festival’s currency will be… recycled plastic
100kg of bottle caps are recycled by Oliver Thomas and his magic machine. They will serve as currency for the festival. A first in Mauritius for this citizen act in partnership with ensamnoukapav and 4Aces.
IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ESCAPED SLAVES
AUGUST 24TH. L’EMBRASURE
In the nature preserve surrounding Le Morne Mountain; a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, this trail promises discovery and pleasure. Dedicated to the memory of the escaped slaves, it offers two options.
The Grand Marronnage is only for enthusiasts with 20 km of trails steeped in history along the mountain slopes.
The Small Marronnage of 10 km is accessible to a greater number of people for a pleasurable stroll through the private estate of Le Petit Morne, open especially for this unique occasion.
A portion of the registration fees are donated to the NGO : ADM ( ACTION DEVELOPMENT OF LE MORNE) and 10 free registrations will be offered to village residents.

This trail, accessible to all; with family (children from 6 years old), among friends, alone or in a couple…allows one to discover either walking or running the magnificent private hunting estate of Le Petit Morne, opening it’s exceptional nature preserve for one day only for a good cause: the NGO: ADM (Action Développement Le Morne).
100% of registration fees will be donated to its village project.
On Site Registration: Rs 250
Children under the age of 12 are free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult. A special kid’s corner is organized to allow parents to enjoy the festival and to prepare the younger generation to be eco-responsible with activities based on the green attitude such as ecology, music or recycling.
Tikoulou’s adventures and movies about protection of the environment are screened.
The Village puts Art in the spotlight with an ephemeral gallery by Lakaz d’Art. Local artists exhibit their work and a portion of sales will be donated to the NGO. LaKaz d’Art will organize workshops with village youth and the NGO: ADM (Action Développement Le Morne).

My Pop Up Shop Mauritius will be at the counter of the Festival Boutique. On sale on local shop, products and brands from Mauritius and an eco shop with many brands and a special collection from Nou Le Morne!
